Application of PCTG material in cosmetic packaging
PCTG is a transparent plastic and an amorphous copolyester. The comonomer commonly used in PCTG is 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM), which is called polyethylene terephthalate-1 , 4-cyclohexanedimethanol ester. It is a polycondensation product of three monomers of terephthalic acid (PTA), ethylene glycol (EG) and 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM) by transesterification. Compared with PET, it has more 1,4 -Cyclohexanedimethanol comonomer has more ethylene glycol comonomer than PCT, so the performance of PCTG is quite different from that of PET and PCT. PCTG is an amorphous copolyester. With the increase of CHDM in the copolymer, the melting point decreases, the glass transition temperature increases, and the crystallinity decreases, and finally an amorphous polymer is formed. Generally, the content of CHDM in PCTG is more suitable at 30%-40%.
Has good viscosity, clarity, color, chemical resistance, and stress whitening resistance. Can be quickly thermoformed or extrusion blow molded. Viscosity is better than acrylic (acrylic). PCTG is an amorphous copolyester. Its products are highly transparent and have excellent impact resistance. It is especially suitable for forming thick-walled transparent products. Its processing and forming properties can be designed in any shape according to the designer's intention. Traditional Molding methods such as extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, and blister molding can be widely used in the markets of sheet materials, high-performance shrink films, bottles and profiled materials, and cosmetic packaging.At the same time, its secondary processing performance is excellent, and conventional Machining finishing.
PCTG has glass-like transparency and density close to glass, good gloss, chemical corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and easy processing, and can be injection molded, injection stretch blow molded and extrusion blow molded. It is also capable of producing unique shapes, looks and special effects such as vibrant colors, frosted, marbled, metallic and more. It is also possible to utilize other polyesters, elastomeric plastics or ABS for over-injection molding.
Products include perfume bottles and caps, cosmetic bottles and caps, lipstick tubes, cosmetic cases, deodorant packaging, talcum powder bottles and eyeliner sets, etc. PETG injection molding products include medical devices such as filters, Eustachian tubes, tube connectors, pumps, clips, and dialysis equipment.
